Marshmallow contains dry aqueous extract of marshmallow root (Althaeae officinalis), a plant traditionally used to soothe irritated upper respiratory tract accompanied by dry, non-productive cough. Marshmallow root is rich in mucous polysaccharides which coat mucus and soothe coughing sensation. Marshmallow liquid food supplement is taken three times a day, depending on the age, in the amount of 5 to 15 ml. It can be taken by children above the age of 3. It has a pleasant taste adapted to children.
